Matthew 14:25 Jesus Came To The Disciples, Walking On The Water

Jesus Is On Top Of The Water

Matthew 14:24 (CEB)
24 Meanwhile, the boat, fighting a strong headwind, was being battered by the waves and was already far away from land.

The disciples had been sent ahead in the boat. They had no idea that a great storm would come up where Jesus had sent them. When we read these Bible verses our thoughts are on Jesus walking on the water. This was a dark difficult moment in the life of the disciples and Jesus came to them, above and not beneath, the head and not the tail, and on top of the problem they were facing.

We are sent out into the world in the same way the disciples were sent out in the boat. Sometimes difficult situations arise in our life the same way as the storm arose out of nowhere.

Come To Jesus On The Water

If a circumstance arises in your life, and you feel like your boat is tossed around like the disciples were. It helps to learn to concentrate on Jesus and cast your thoughts and cares to His solutions. Jesus wants you to feel the safety of His words, as He beckons you to come to Him, rising above your problems in the same way He told Peter to come out on the water. Jesus wants us on top of every negative situation in our life with Him. No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it. (1 Corinthians 10:12-14 MSG)

On Top Of The Storm Water Of Life

Peter actually walked on top of the stormy waters while he kept his eyes on Jesus. When he looked down he began to sink. Sometimes, when circumstances in our life seem larger than the solutions, we waterwill tend to look more at the problem than at the solution God has provided for us. Jesus is always the solution to our problems and to the problems of the world at large.

It took faith for Peter to step out of the boat. He saw Jesus doing the impossible and was able to do something that is totally impossible in our realm of reality. He was able to walk on the water until he took his eyes off Jesus. Beloved, keep your eyes upon Jesus, wash yourself in the water of His word and He will grab your hand and help you to stay on top of the stormy water of life with Him. You shall be above and not beneath all stormy water circumstances of life and you will be on top of all your worries and cares with Jesus. (Deuteronomy 28:13)
