Cast Your Cares Is Easily Said
1 Peter 5:7
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
You might think it is difficult to cast your cares on the Lord, and without knowing how much He cares for you, it would be easier said than done. When you are going thru a difficult time it is nice to know that someone cares about what you are going through.
When a friend comes to you and tells you they are praying for you and that they wish you the best in your situation, it helps to know you have a friend who cares. What if that friend said: “I have decided that you can give me that burden, I know how to fix it and once you give it to me I will go to work on it and you can relax while I am working on it for you.” That is the manner that God would like for you to place your burdens on Him. He has said in Psalms 55:22 Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
He wants you to cast your cares to Him and it isn’t just for you to ignore them it is for Him to work on them on your behalf.
Cast Your Cares Even If Beaten, Imprisoned and Possibly Killed
Maybe your problems are not as extreme as the early church was having. The apostle Peter told the early church to cast their cares on the Lord because of the extreme persecution they were going thru. These were Jewish believers who were experiencing intense suffering, persecution and “fiery trials,” not because they were doing something wrong, but because they were living out their faith in humility and righteousness and still they were being beaten, imprisoned and even killed.
Maybe your care is a matter of life and death like the disciples were experiencing when they were in their boat in the storm. They cried out, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” when they were in the midst of a terrifying storm. (Mark 4:38)
Maybe your care is not that drastic and it is just an aggravation to you like Martha was going thru. She had on one occasion cried out to Jesus, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone?” (Luke 10:40)
Cast Your Cares on Him No Matter How Great or Small
My friend the Lord does care for you from the smallest of problems you may be facing to extreme problems like the early church was facing. No matter how big or how small your problem is the Lord would like for you to trust Him to help you through it. When the Holy Spirit thru Peter said to cast all your cares upon Him, He was talking about the continuous act of casting all your cares upon the Lord. As a care comes, God wants you to cast it to Him. To make this a lifestyle should be your optimum goal. God wants you to see yourself casting your cares to the one who loves you and who came from heaven to die for you.
Beloved, God wants you to know that you are never alone for He has said He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) Since you can trust that He is always with you then you can know you are under His care for the rest of your life and you can cast your cares to Him, for He cares for you.
