Lion Roar Before The Attack | No Way
1 Peter 5:7-8
7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
In the context of casting all your cares on the Lord we are told the devil goes about making noise like a lion roar seeking someone to attack. All the animal documentaries on TV will show that lions don’t walk around roaring looking for prey. They are stealth hunters, they quietly come real close to their prey, stop inconspicuously and then they rush the attack showing a force of real power. But the Bible says the devil is going about like a roaring lion looking for prey so this indicates that this threat has no real power behind it. He is just trying to scare his victims into letting these tactics work. That is why the Lord tells us to cast our cares on Him and this explains how the lion’s roar will have no effect on us.
Don’t Lion Roar At Home
For example, if you have had a hard day at work don’t bring the lion roar home and unload the frustrations on your spouse, instead the Lord wants you to cast these cares on Him and stop the lion roar in your home. Jesus said: “My peace I leave with you” so bring the peace of Jesus home with you and cast the “lion roar” cares on the Lord. (John 14:27)
The Lord Gives Peace And Removes The Lion Roar
It does not matter how good our relationship with our family or friends may be, sometimes we go through a difficult time or trial and need extra help from the Lord. Beloved the Lord cares for you and wants even the smallest matter you have to cause you no discomfort, and He wants you to cast ALL your cares on Him for He cares for you.
