Romans 8:16

Children Of God Expectations
As a child of God, we should have greater expectations, knowing that God the creator of all things in heaven and earth , is our Father. The Bible tells us about the benefits we have with our Father; “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) and “Who then shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation? or distress? or famine? or nakedness? or danger? or persecution? or the sword?… But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Absolutely NOTHING can separate us from our Father’s love! Now that is what I call good expectation for the children of God. It is much more that we could expect from any earthly parent, and rightly so!
Children Of God Reality
When a Christian doesn’t take the rightful status they have, being children of God, they get caught up in the thoughts and expectations of the world they see and hear around them. This causes the children of God to not take their rightful place, and they miss out on all the blessings God has for them, it could even be tragic. “There is a way that seems right to a person, but eventually it ends in death.” (Proverbs 14:12)
For as children of God we must take our rightful place in faith trusting God is for us; “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
Beloved, remember who your Father is, next time you are feeling down or depressed. When it seems your back is against the wall, speak faith that God is sending His army of Angels to deliver you. Speak God’s word and claim the blessings of Abraham, and see God’s word come alive in your life, always allowing His Spirit to bear witness in your spirit that you are children of God.
