What is the Course of Nature

James 3:6
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

The course of nature is the mode of events set in place by God to happen naturally. Nature is the way animals are born or the way plants, animals, and other features of the world develop of their own accord. God set all of this into motion and put man in charge of it, until man fell and broke the divine order of the governing gift that God had given to man. By Jesus sacrifice of Himself on the cross for the sins of man, He regained back the authority the first Adam had lost to satan. Since we have again the divine authority of the governing gift that God had given to man through Jesus, according to James we can change the course of nature by our words.

For example, when God created nature he gave each creature an immune system. When a pathogen comes into a human body the immune system was created to destroy the pathogen before it can cause a disease. With our tongue we can destroy the course of nature by speaking to ourselves and saying: “I think I am coming down with a cold”, or “I feel like I am going to be sick”, or “I am feeling bad I must be catching what’s been going around”, and sure enough when we say that we get what we said. We actually set on fire the course of nature by destroying the natural and spiritual healing with our words. There are many ways that the course of nature could have changed the outcome had these words not been spoken. God has put into place a course of nature and you can mess it up with your tongue.

The Course of Nature God Set In Place for Healing

When we think about the immune system we know that is the most natural way to cure a disease. If a person has a great diet and exercises regularly they usually have a very strong immune system and they don’t get sick, even if someone with a bad cold sneezes on them. But the immune system is not the only means that God has set in place for us to be well. Jesus paid a price for our healing at a whipping post. It was a another atonement for the human race along with paying the price for our sins at the cross. That is why the Bible says in 1 Peter 2:24 that by His wounds you have been healed. We also find the same verse exclaimed in Isaiah 53:4-5 and Matthew 8:17 saying He took our infirmities and carried our disease. Therefore, along with the immune system healing us naturally we also have this Spiritual way to be well. Both of these avenues are a course of nature being established by God and put into motion through a divine order of events from God. With your tongue you set on fire this course of nature speaking against it by getting in agreement with sickness and disease with your words. Why not speak in agreement with one or both of these God established course’s of nature?

How to Agree with the Course of Nature

According to Jesus words have a lot of power. Jesus said when we speak, if we believe the things we speak are true, then they will happen. (Mark 11:22-24) When we speak in agreement with nature, instead of saying; “I think I am coming down with a cold” we could say; “God created my immune system to take care of this cold naturally, and by Jesus stripes I am spiritually healed.

We also could take communion and when breaking a piece of bread say; this is a symbol of Jesus’ body broken for me, I take this accepting the sacrifice made for me and by His wounds I have been made well. Then take the juice saying; Jesus said this is the cup of the New Covenant in His Blood and I receive my redemption.

Another way to get in agreement with the course of nature, and not set it on fire, is to speak to the mountain of sickness and tell it to leave your presence in Jesus name. I am sure there are many more ways to align your words with the course of nature instead of disturbing God’s plan with our words and set it on fire of hell. We need to constantly stay in agreement with what God has put into motion for our well-being. With the natural immune fix or the spiritual fix you can be in agreement with God’s plan and not burn it up with your tongue.

Beloved, get in agreement with God’s course of nature for your health, finances and protection. Come unto Jesus all you who are heavy laden and He will give you rest. Take His yoke upon you, learn of Him, His words are life unto those who find them and health to every part of their body. (Matthew 11:28-30, Proverbs 4:21-23)
