Rewards Are to Those Who? (Hebrews 11:6)

God Rewards Those Who Diligently Seek

Hebrews 11:6
6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

We live in a world of distractions and our diligence of seeking Jesus is sometimes misguided. Sometimes rewards are lost when people get caught up in seeking doctrines of religion, thinking this will earn the faith that pleases God when carrying out all their doctrinal beliefs. But the rewards go to those who seek after Jesus Himself.

When there are disappointments in our lives that cause us to doubt the promises of God some people will quote the first part of Hebrews 11:6 — “without faith it is impossible to please Him” as a supporting block to help continue in faith. But without including the second part to Hebrews 11:6 this sometimes ends up with more disappointment since the rewards of faith go to those who diligently seek Jesus. To seek Jesus you must understand His gift of Righteousness. When you are desiring rewards Jesus has obtained for us through His diligence, our faith is rewarded by diligently seeking and learning that Jesus earned everything for us with His diligence and without our help. His gift of righteousness must be our focal point to fill every void in our lives when it comes to receiving anything by faith.

God Rewards Those Who Hunger

When you have a passion for seeking Jesus you will feel the hunger inside of you to know more about Him and your life in Christ. To hunger for Jesus you must believe that His rewards come through His righteousness and not your own right doing or hard work. For blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6) The blessings of faith are manifest in your life when you understand the gift of righteousness that God has given us through Jesus is a gift. We cannot rewards of righteousnessreceive this righteousness by doing good nor can we loose this righteousness by doing evil. We are righteous because God gave us the righteousness of Jesus. To diligently seek after Jesus, and receive His rewards, is to learn of Him  and trust Him with all your heart, leaning not on your own understanding and right doing. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. (Proverbs 3:4-6, Matthew 11:28-30) When Jesus took all of our sins upon Himself He was doing an exchange of His righteousness for our sins so that we could receive His blessings. Knowing these truths leads to believing He is who the Bible says He is, and faith diligently seeking the righteousness of Jesus is faith that pleases God.

Rewards Not Deserved

When you diligently seek the Lord about His wonderful gift of righteousness, you will know you can never loose it by bad works because it wasn’t obtained by good works. In receiving this gift we have access to all the good things that Jesus deserved because Jesus took upon Himself all the bad things we deserved. By understanding this great exchange you have the key to receiving the rewards of your faith in the promises of God in your life. It does not take large amounts of faith to move a mountain, only a small mustard seed size is needed. God is not pretending you are righteous. (2Corinth. 5:21) God made Jesus (who knew no sin) to be sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. By faith and through His righteousness we receive the rewards that God has promised.
