Grace and Success

Genesis 39:2
2The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man…

As Gods grace prospers a person, the blessings will spill over to others. When Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, he was brought down to Egypt. There Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, bought him from the Ishmaelites. When Joseph was brought to Potiphar’s house, Potiphar could see  that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made everything Joseph put his hand to prosper. So Joseph was placed in charge of Potiphars house and all that he had.

Even though things seemed bad for Joseph, when his brothers sold him into slavery,  God was with him. The grace of the Lord brought success to Potiphar thru Joseph, as God caused Joseph to be successful.

Grace and Faith

When you have thoughts racing thru your mind trying to disturb you into believing that some tragedy is going to overtake you or someone you love, it is good to know that God is for you and not against you because of Jesus. Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture…. None of thGraceis fazes us because Jesus loves us. (Romans 8:31-39 MSG)

At one point Joseph went to prison, being falsely accused by Potiphars wife. God’s grace on Joseph caused the warden of the prison to place Joseph in charge of the entire prison and all the prisoners. (Genesis 39: 21-23) First Joseph’s blessings spilled over on Potiphar and now the entire prison.

All Joseph had was God’s grace in his life. But because of this, everything Joseph did and everywhere he went was blessed. Eventually, Joseph became the most powerful man in Egypt next to Pharaoh. (Genesis 41:40–44) Then God’s blessings on Joseph  spilled over onto everyone throughout the land during a seven year famine.

God is no respecter of persons, it is a good thing to continually remind ourselves that God’s grace is with us and spilling over onto everyone and everything we are involved with.

God’s Grace on You

We have become heir’s of the world through Grace by becoming of the seed of Abraham. We have been redeemed from the effects of sin, in order that the blessing given to Abraham, would be given to us through faith in Jesus. (Romans 4:13 -16, Galatians 3:13-14) With this in mind we did not qualify ourselves to be successful; Jesus qualified Himself and we are in Him thereby becoming qualified too.

Beloved, you can claim your blessings by saying you are qualified in Jesus by His Grace, even if you are in the midst of troubling times like Joseph had. When the Lord is with you, you can expect the same success, that happened to Joseph, to happen to you. Through Jesus you have been empowered to succeed, prosper and live the abundant life. With God’s grace on your life thru Jesus, you will end up enjoying His favor, goodness and grace!
