The Work Jesus Did Was For Our Rest
Matthew 11:28
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Have you noticed it seems like days are shorter and there is always more to do and less time to get it done? The Bible tells us in the last days knowledge will be increased, people will be very busy; “frantically running around” and time will be shortened. With all the world wide increase of knowledge, it brings more burdens that keep us busy. Jesus knew it would be difficult for us and He tells us to yoke ourselves with Him to find rest and the easy way to live life.(Daniel 12:4, Mark 13:19-20, Matthew 24:21-22)
Jesus says: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30 MSG)
Jesus Kept the Law for Our Liberty
Many people want to live right. Their concern with “right living” makes them focus on themselves and the things they struggle with. In this “end times” we can see our inability to handle the extra weight of the busy life we are living. Jesus has made a way to ease these burdens and make life easy by shifting our focus on Him. Jesus wants you to know that right believing is what produces right living. When we believe that Jesus kept all of God’s laws, thus acquiring the right to all of God’s blessings, this changes the expectations we have for our life. He did all of this for us to have freedom and grace in our lives thru Him, so that as we yoke ourselves with Him, these blessings would spill over into our lives bringing us joy, peace, prosperity and health. He paid the price for us to become completely free from stress and a burdensome life.
Jesus Wants You to Recover Your Life
A moment with Jesus can completely change a person, so imagine what could happen completely yoked with Jesus. We must realize that we are always yoked. The question is “with whom are we yoked?” Jesus said we cannot serve two masters and the reference was about God or money. (Matthew 6:24) God wants your main desire to be about Him and His kingdom and not the riches of the world. That is why God has made provision for you to complete your life in a peaceful easy manner thru Jesus.
Beloved, there are no burdens that Jesus has not provided a way to free you from; He will always be there to help you to escape to a victorious peaceful life in Him. (1 Corinthians 10:13) Don’t let the cares of this life burden you down, give them all to Jesus and take His restful yoke upon you. (1 Peter 5:7)
