2 Peter 1:2 God’s Grace and Peace Be Multiplied

God’s Grace Expanded

2 Peter 1:2
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

In this verse, the word peace is actually shalom being interpreted as peace. Shalom means nothing missing and nothing broken thus causing peace in your life. Peter is telling us God’s grace, His undeserved favor and shalom peace, can be multiplied to us. In this manner, we can get more of it in our life. He is telling us the expansion of grace and shalom peace is through the knowledge of God and the knowledge of Jesus. God’s Grace is a means of undeserved favor and provision in our life. We can believe with more of this knowledge, we have more grace and peace received. He increases this grace and peace thru Jesus. A definition for favor is “preferential treatment” and you can know He gives you “preferential treatment” you do not deserve because of something you have done, but it is given because of what Jesus has done and increased thru Jesus.

To have more of God’s Shalom Peace we would have harmony in our lives with nothing missing and nothing broken. If a person was to say they lost everything but they still have God’s peace, someone from Israel would not understand that because shalom peace is nothing missing and nothing broken. The grace and shalom is what God wants to multiply to you in a greater way thru Jesus.

Experience God’s Grace Abundantly

God wants you to know that this favor can be experienced in your life in a greater way on a continual basis day to day. The more you behold Jesus and His love for you and the more you believe and confess that God’s favor is on you, the more you will see His favor at work for you. “And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:16-17).

When you feel that you need help, your knowledge of God’s Word will cause more of the favor you need to be activated in your life. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). God’s plan for us includes His participation in our lives. He willingly wants to pour out His unmerited favor and increase it as we learn more about Jesus.

God’s Grace Brings Preferential Treatment

If you are a business man, God’s Grace will cause people to want to do business with you, because they like you and feel good about you. You will soon find you have more business than you can handle. If you are a Doctor you will find patients favoring you and recommending you as they see God’s favor in how you have helped them as God’s grace is guiding you in helping them.

Beloved, trust in God’s Grace and learn more of Jesus, you will see His grace and peace multiplied to you, with perfect timing in your life. You can experience more of His favor and shalom from day to day because God is the “God of all grace” (1 Peter 5:10).
