Do You Need Evidence?
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
We hear about the economy failing all over the world and people begin to worry about their finances. We can see the reality of the economic downturn all around us. In this reality we have our evidence that it is true the economy is failing. With this proof we can go to God and talk to Him about how the economy is failing and how we are being effected by it. But is that really what God would want you to do? Would God want you to bring to Him evidence or bring to Him faith? The bible does not say that the just shall live by evidence and this is what brings God pleasure. NO, paraphrased it says the just shall live by faith and if any may draw back (into evidence) God will have no pleasure in this person. (Hebrews 10:37-39) It does not take evidence to please God it takes faith. When you have something to say about the economy speak faith in how it will not effect God’s people. Use your faith in God’s word where time after time His people were delivered from famine. Go to God and tell Him you have faith He will do the same for you.
No Evidence Needed
When you purchase a brand new car you have no problem getting in that car and driving it across the country, never having a minute of doubt in the ability of that car to make it. With a new car you have no reason to take it to a mechanic and have it checked out to see if there was anything wrong with it. Your evidence was this car had to be perfect since you bought it new from a dealer and you put faith in this evidence. But if you buy a used car you may want some evidence to see if it is road worthy enough to make it across country. You probably would look under the hood, listen to it run, ask lots of questions to establish your evidence. There is nothing wrong with this reality but isn’t this the same natural approach we take with the spiritual things in our lives where God wants us to live by faith? I knew a lady several years ago who lived in Hillsboro Texas who had an emergency come up and needed to drive her car across Hill County to take care of this emergency. She had no gas in her car, no money and no way to put gas in the car. She remembered when God turned the water into wine so she prayed over her 
water and stuck the water hose in her gas tank asking God to turn it into gasoline, and God did. This lady did not need evidence she had faith in God’s love and ability, she had several scriptures to back up her actions and God met her need. (Philippians 4:18-20, John 2:1-14, 1 John 4:16-18)
The Evidence of Health
When we have a symptom in our body telling us that we are sick, we have the evidence we need to believe in the sickness that is coming on us. We might decide to take some medicine or go to the doctor to relieve us of the evident symptoms of sickness attacking us, and this is the natural way to relieve this sickness. There is another way we can remove the sickness. ( Isaiah 53:4-5, 1 Peter 2:24) You can trust in the healing atonement that Jesus made for you to be healed. The problem of evidence will always rise up in the mixture of faith in God’s healing atonement. What if you suddenly feel better when you have placed your faith in God’s healing atonement for you? Is this evidence now a supporting block for you, now giving you faith to receive healing? If the symptoms returns then you have lost your evidence and where does that leave you? The best way is place your faith in what God has provided for you through Jesus. Your faith in history that God has paid the price for your healing through Jesus’ atonement. God sees your faith and this is pleasing to Him. God is not pleased with evidence, He is pleased with faith. We draw back from faith the moment we step into the evidence mode, even if it is when symptoms of sickness begin to disappear and we say to ourselves; “now God is healing me.” That is not when God is healing, you were healed by the stripes on the back of Jesus when he took the beating atonement for your healing 2000 years ago. When Jesus paid the price for your healing is when you were healed, not when the symptoms started to disappear.
Beloved, you can find in the bible a source that will meet your every need. When you find the scriptures that applies to your needs, step into faith that God wrote that just for you, because He did! Walk in the truth of God’s word by faith and not by evidence, and God shall have great pleasure in you and miracles will begin to happen.
