My God Shall Supply
Philippians 4:19
19And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
When hearing the news about the economy failing, wars that could possibly happen, and possible world recession, it is nice to hear Paul tell us that his God shall supply all our needs. Instead of only saying: “God shall supply” Paul adds “my” to this in a way so that we know he is well acquainted with God, and he wants us to know that he has full assurance of what God will do in a situation of need. So that we don’t make a mistake as to how God is going to supply this need, Paul tells us it is by Christ Jesus personally who will supply the need.
God Shall Supply All Your Need
In this verse we see our needs are met, but do you know God loves you so much that it gives Him pleasure to give you even the desires of your heart? (Psalm 37:4) Since Paul was telling us God Shall supply all these needs, he is giving us assurance with the word shall. God’s supply is not like a neighborhood department store that may be out of stock, His supply is endless and He always is there to meet the need. For Example: “I have been self employed since 1982. There was a time I decided to mow grass to make extra money as a second business. I had gained several customers and I needed a better faster mower. I asked God to supply me the mower I needed, and I specifically asked for a front deck zero turn radius mower. The next week one appeared for sale just out front of a store close to my house. It was a 60 inch cut Toro zero turn radius mower with a surrey seat on the back. I ended up owning that mower and using it all the years that I was in the mowing business.” God had miraculously placed this mower in easy access for me and I knew it was from God as soon as I saw it. According To His Riches In Glory God Shall Supply
WOW, can you imagine the cosmic wealth of God? Think about the endless supply He has for any need throughout the entire universe. Paul is telling us, God the creator of all things in the universe, shall supply us, out of His riches in Glory, for all our earthly and eternal needs. We are completely protected and provided for where we shall not lack any good thing. (Psalm 34:10) God wants us to prosper here on this earth and prosper in the after life with Him supplying. The good news is in both instances it is more than the world can offer and above and beyond what we could think, hope or ask. (Ephesians 3:20)
By Christ Jesus God Shall Supply
To make sure that we don’t misunderstand how God plans on doing all of this Paul added to the sentence “by Christ Jesus”. In fact Jesus told us that no man comes to the Father but by Him. (John 14:6) In this scripture God tells us that after we have come to Him thru Jesus, God shall supply all of our needs thru Jesus. It is so wonderful to see how God the Father is in Jesus and Jesus is in God the Father. (John 14:10)
Beloved, you can relax knowing that since you are “In Christ Jesus”, God our Father has you completely cared for. So, don’t look at all the bad circumstances or bad things happening in the world. Instead, look to God and His unshakable eternal Word that has been given to assure you that you are His precious possession. He wants you to cast all your cares upon Him for He cares deeply for you. (1 Peter 5:7) In this manner you will lift your heart to Him and you will see God supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
