For Whose Sake are We Healed?

For Jesus Sake God Hears our Prayers

1 John 2:12
12I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name’s sake.

Have you prayed for an illness you may have had or maybe for a friend to become well and didn’t see the results that you would like to have seen? Were you praying for your sake or for their sake? Have you ever thought that you could pray for them for Jesus sake? My wife prayed a prayer for Jesus sake many years ago and I told her: “It is for your sake you pray, not the sake of Jesus since He died for your sake”, I now think she was praying correctly.

There are many different avenues of faith whereby we can receive what we believe God for, Jesus often said: “your faith has made you whole”. Everything we receive is centered on God placing all of our sins and sickness on Jesus so that we might be made well. That is why we pray in Jesus name and in His name the father hears us for Jesus sake. (John 16:23)

For Our Sake Jesus is Lord

2 Corinthians 4:5
For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

Jesus is Lord and savior of the entire world. He did this for our sake for sure. But to become born again God looks at the sacrifice Jesus made for us and it is for Jesus sake we are changed into a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Faith is the substance of things hoped for and when we pray it is a good thing to know for Jesus sake the prayer will be answered. When we are healed of a sickness it is for Jesus sake this happens. When we prosper in our finances it is for Jesus sake this happens. Every blessing the Christian receives is because we have been given the free gift of the righteousness of Jesus, and for His sake we inherit the blessings of Abraham.

Not for God’s Goodness sake

for-jesus-sakeGod is good and good all the time, but if he were healing everyone for His goodness sake then all the Christians would be well all the time for the sake of God’s goodness. It is not for the Christian’s sake, or for God’s Goodness the healing miracle is received, it is for Jesus sake that we are healed. For example; when the children of Israel were bitten by the snakes in the wilderness, they were not healed just because of the Bronze snake Moses had put on the pole, but when they looked at the bronze snake on the pole they were healed. Jesus said in John 3:14; “as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be”, so in the same way when we are bitten by the curse of this world with sin and sickness, we are not healed just because of Jesus being on the cross and taking the sins and sickness on Himself, but when our need arises, as we look at our solution on the cross we pray and receive our healing from the Father God for Jesus sake in the same way they received healing from the snake bite as they looked at their solution on the cross. The bronzed snake meant “the death by the snake bite” had been judged on the cross, in the same way “death from sin and sickness” has been judged with Jesus on the cross. (Numbers 21:4-9)

Beloved, when you pray believe you receive the things you ask for in correct perspective, knowing Jesus has acquired them for you, and with faith in Jesus name nothing is impossible for you for His sake. (Mark 11:24, Matthew 21:22, Mark 9:23)
