Our Righteousness From Jesus
Proverbs 12:28
In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death.
His Righteousness Path Grows Brighter Each Day
The road the righteous travel is like the sunrise, getting brighter and brighter until daylight has come. (Proverbs 4:18) The blessings of this gift of righteousness from God, shines in our hearts causing us to prosper as we learn about these amazing gifts God has given us. In the Old Testament we see that even during famines, God took care of His people and made their way blessed. (Genesis 12:10, 13:1-2) They weren’t just spared from suffering, they prospered exceedingly. We read in Genesis that God prospered Joseph and he was able to provide for his entire family in Egypt when the 7 year famine came to the land. (Genesis 47:11-13, and verses 27) So even if our Nation was to enter into a recession, we can expect that we will not suffer from it like other may, for in the way of the righteousness there is life, and we have this righteousness as a gift.
Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness
Jesus said Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they SHALL be filled. (Matthew 5:6) When I first accepted Jesus as my Savior, I was in bad need of something in my life. I knew when I heard the truth about how Jesus died to save me, that accepting Him as my Lord was what I was missing. I hungered and thirsted for something to fill the empty void in me, and did not know until after I had received Him, that receiving Jesus and the gift of righteousness was what I needed to fill that void.
Beloved, today is a great day, for it is a day the Lord has made, He has established us in His righteousness and our path continues to grow brighter and brighter as we move towards the perfect day. What we know is that when Christ is openly revealed, we’ll see him—and in seeing him, become like him. All of us who look forward to his Coming stay ready, with the glistening purity of Jesus’ life as a model for our own. The day that we are in His presence and see Jesus in all His glory. What a wonderful day that will be! (1 John 3:2 MSG)
