Enemies | We Sit and Enjoy the Banquet (Psalm 23:5)

The Table is in Front of the Enemies

Psalm 23:5
5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.

Have you ever thought of what it is like for God to prepare a table in the presence of your enemies? I am sure much of the time this goes on in our lives and we don’t see what is taking place. God is preparing a table for us to feast at, right in the presence of enemies. The problem is we don’t see the table as it is being prepared, we see the enemies. All the while we are looking at the enemies God wants us to sit down and enjoy the banquet.

We have scriptures that tell us to relax; the battle is the Lord’s:

  • Let God arise and our enemies be scattered (Psalm 68:1)
  • No weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
  • All things work together for good to those who love God (Romans 8:28)
  • The battle is the Lord’s (2 Chronicles 20:15, 1 Samuel 17:46-47)
  • The Lord shall fight for you (Exodus 14:14, Deuteronomy 20:4)
  • I will fear no evil for thou art with me (Psalm 23:4)

When Enemies Come the Battle is the Lord’s

I recently had an experience where God prepared the table before me in the presence of my enemies.  I went to a Harley Bike shop to test drive a Harley Trike. I wasn’t intending on purchasing the trike, I just wanted to test drive the it and see what… Read More

All the time I was making the deal with them God was preparing a table in the presence of my enemies. These people working at this dealership were not my enemies, this entire thing was a weapon formed against me by the devil and he was using these people. I enemiesactually like the people at the dealership and they were just doing what came natural to them. They had no idea when this started that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, or that all things work together for good for those who love God and are the called according to His purposes. (Isaiah 54:17, Romans 8:28)

After the Banquet is over and the Enemies Dismayed

When you have an experience where people are used against you in a way that in wrong, know that God will somehow work out the bumps in the road moving the obstacles from your path as He prepares a table before your enemies. (Isaiah 62:10) The table is set. Jesus says, “Come My child; partake of what I have prepared.”

Beloved, stand up for what God has given you by speaking forth what His word says about you. Look for the good that Romans 8:28 is going to bring in every situation in your life. When you begin to expect that God is preparing a table in the presence of your enemies and no weapon formed against you shall prosper, that is when you will see it happening in real time in your life in Christ.
